4. Analytics

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service. It is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of the use of the website by you. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google Analytics cookies are stored based on Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior to optimize both its website and its advertising.

IP anonymization

We have activated the IP anonymization feature on this website. Your IP address will be shortened by Google within the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area prior to transmission to the United States. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services regarding website activity and Internet usage for the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with any other data held by Google.

Outsourced data processing

We have entered into an agreement with Google for the outsourcing of our data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic data collection by Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics’ demographic features. This allows reports to be generated containing statements about the age, gender, and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google and third-party visitor data. This collected data cannot be attributed to any specific individual person. You can disable this feature at any time by adjusting the ads settings in your Google account or you can forbid the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described in the section “Refusal of data collection”.

5. Information we collect and use from the Baloc App

General

We built Baloc app as a freemium app. This service is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform visitors regarding the policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information if anyone decided to use our service. If you choose to use our service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The personal information that we collect is used for providing and improving the service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. This document can be printed for reference by using the print command in the settings of any browser.

Information you provide us

When you subscribe for services through our App, Apple may share your information with us (if you have consented to Apple sharing such information). We may collect additional information from you if you send us an email, complete a user survey, or otherwise communicate with us about the App.

Handling activity data

For tracking of your position and altitude, Baloc may ask for the following permissions during the course of usage of the app: data access of your device location and motion data. Location data is used to estimate your exact position and altitude estimation based on GPS sensors. Motion data is used to estimate the barometric pressure and barometric altitude. All of this data is exclusively stored and processed on your device and/or your private Apple iCloud. Your might want to share your tracked datasets using the export functionally provided by Baloc. Handling of exported data relies on your own responsibility.

Handling Health data

Baloc allows you to share your measurements with Apple Health / Apple Fitness. For this feature Baloc may ask for permissions of reading your active calories burned and write data for trainings during the course of usage of the app. Your are also able to display your heart rate on your Apple Watch. For this feature we need to access your heart rate data. We tried to reduce the amount of data to be read to the minimum. The data we receive from Apple Health is evaluated on your device, integrated into your training dataset and directly deleted from Baloc afterwards. You will find additional information how your health data is handled in Apples Health Privacy Policy. If you don't feel comfortable enabeling this feature, Baloc fully works without.

Photo library access

Baloc offers the possibility to automatically search for photos taken during your activity to display them on the map. This feature requires access to your photo library to search for matching photos. Photos are never being stored or transmitted outside of your local Baloc app. If your don't feel comfortable to grant access to your photo library, Baloc still works without this feature.

Payments

In-app purchases are processed through the Apple App Store. We do not collect or see your payment information, only a unique Subscriber ID that Apple creates for the subscription. Apple iCloud Sync

It is your choice to sync and backup your measurements using your private Apple iCloud. This data cannot be accessed by anyone else than you. Platform services and hosting is performed by Apple. Apple may collect data definied in their iCloud privacy policy. For more information please see Apple ID & Privacy.

Infrastructure monitoring

While it's not personal information, we collect anonymous usage data. This usage data includes information like how long an activity is played with and if there are any technical issues or “bugs”. We analyze this information to learn more about how the App is being used, and how we can maintain and improve the App. We never try to use this information to identify a specific user. Infrastructure monitoring like crash analysis is done using iOS features without using external frameworks and helps us improving the app. If you don't want to share crash reports and app metrics, please refer to Apple instructions.

Beta Testing

This type of service makes it possible to manage User access to this Application, or parts of it, for the purpose of testing a certain feature or the entire Application. The service provider may automatically collect data related to crashes and statistics related to the User's use of this Application in a personally identifiable form. TestFlight (Apple Inc.) TestFlight is a beta testing service provided by Apple Inc. Personal Data processed: device information; email address; first name; last name; Usage Data.
